Purvesh Shelat

Purvesh is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 8 years of experience in the mental health field. He has earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and has completed his Master Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has experience working in hospital settings, group homes, and in the community.

Purvesh has experience working with individuals 14 and older. He utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI). These techniques have proven to be effective in treating various mental health issues.

Purvesh has worked with clients struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorder, Substance abuse, Mood Disorders and a variety of other mental health challenges.

Purvesh enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing video games and exercising during his leisure time. Purvesh uses a variety of disciplines and a range of proven methods to determine the best combination of therapeutic tools to help his client.
