Online Therapy and Support

During COVID-19 we know that anxiety and stress are on the rise. We want you to have the support you need. Please make an appointment so you can be connected with one of our caring therapists.

Perhaps you have always wanted therapy but were unable to come in person due to your busy schedule. Now, due to the current climate, you are socially distancing and have more flexibility in your schedule (and let’s face it if you are a parent you need us to help you navigate this challenging time). Online therapy is a great way to get the help you need. We are here for you so that your “new normal” feels more balanced, less stressed and we will help you to achieve the balance you are seeking for you and your family.

What is Teletherapy?

Simply put, it’s a therapy session that can be done through video on your computer, smartphone or tablet and even over the phone. All of our therapists use a HIPAA compliant and secure platform.

Is it covered by my insurance?

Our dedicated office staff will work with you to verify your benefits.

How can I book a session?

To book an online therapy session call us at 908.415.2042 or email us at info@exceptionalwellnesscounseling.com.

Our caring office staff will schedule you with the therapist that is the “right fit” for you or your loved ones. Intake forms will be emailed to you through a HIPAA compliant platform.

Is Teletherapy effective for children?

Recent studies seem to suggest that younger clients, in particular, actually seem to favor the online format. Some children and teens may be more open to therapy when it is conducted in this modality. Our therapists are using creative and therapeutic means to keep your child engaged. We will also include working with you as part of the process when appropriate.

Additional Information on Teletherapy

Online Video counseling (teletherapy) has actually been around in some shape or form since 1986. Although it is new to many, online therapy has been more and more used in the last decade. Due to our current technology such as FaceTime, Instagram, TikTok, etc. as a society we continue to connect in various ways. As such, teletherapy is a way for clients to connect with their therapists in a convenient and secure manner. Researchers and preliminary studies suggest that for many cases online therapy is as effective and sometimes even more effective than in-person sessions.

This type of therapy is especially useful for people in rural areas, those in the military, those who move frequently or people who travel for work and want to maintain a relationship with one therapist are great candidates for this method. Stay at home parents who don’t want to have to get a sitter for a therapy session can easily schedule a session from the comfort of their homes during nap time or have sessions if they have a partner who they can “tag-team” with later in the day.  Additionally, those with physical or emotional limitations can eliminate barriers to care by connecting online.
