Darryl is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with over seven years of experience in the mental health field and more than 20 years of dedicated work with children and families. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Montclair State University and a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Child Welfare from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Additionally, he holds a certificate in Adolescent Advocacy from Montclair State University.
Darryl has extensive experience working with pre-teens (ages 10 and up), adolescents, young adults, adults, and families across various settings including a behavioral assessment center for incarcerated males, the Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCP&P), and in-home mental and behavioral health services. He has also co-facilitated therapeutic group sessions focused on batterers’ intervention for males aged 18 and older.

His areas of strength include stress and anger management, child welfare and child protection, adolescent behavioral challenges, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, emotion regulation, depression, suicidal ideation, and trauma. Committed to evidence-based practices, Darryl utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help individuals reframe negative thought patterns and behaviors. He also adopts a Strength-Based Approach, empowering clients to navigate complex life situations and achieve personal growth.

A lifelong learner, Darryl remains committed to professional development and staying informed about advancements in the field of social work. He believes in the power of collaboration and actively engages clients in the therapeutic process, guiding them toward resilience, improved coping skills, and meaningful change.

Outside of his professional life, Darryl enjoys spending time with his family, attending his children’s sporting events, working on DIY projects, and maintaining his yard.
