Teirra is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who graduated from Rutgers University in 2020 with a Master’s in Social Work. While at Rutgers, she participated in the Violence Against Women Children certificate program and the Phi Alpha Honor Society. For her undergraduate career, she attended Immaculata University with a concentration in Political Science and French. Later Teirra attended Kean University where she graduated in 2012 with a concentration in Sociology.

In 2018, Teirra’s social work career began at Acelero Headstart in South Amboy, NJ as a social work intern assisting families and their children. Since 2019, she has served domestic violence survivors as the Hotline Manager and counselor at 180 Turning Lives Around in Monmouth County, NJ.

In her work with clients, ages 13 and up, Teirra uses a trauma-informed lens with approaches from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Solution Focused Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy to assist clients struggling with anxiety, adjustment disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, couple’s therapy, and family therapy. She offers LGBTQIA+ affirming care.

For self-care, Teirra enjoys spending time with her family, and friends, scouring bookstores, reading, collecting vinyl records, fishing with her dad, and playing the Sims for too many hours.
