Amanda Levitt

Amanda Levitt is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from The College of New Jersey and her Master of Science degree from Monmouth University.

Amanda has been working in the Mental health field since 2018 and has worked in a variety of settings including intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization programs, non-profits, and in-home treatment.

Amanda’s counseling approach is based on a humanistic person-centered approach, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed techniques to help individuals challenge their thoughts and improve their emotion regulation and emotional intelligence.

Amanda utilizes experiential art, play, movement, and creativity into her sessions providing a safe atmosphere for clients to fully express and heal themselves. In 2023, Amanda completed a 30 hour Trauma-Informed Creative Arts Therapy Certificate Program.

Amanda has experience working with many ages throughout the lifespan ranging from children as young as 5 up to seniors. Amanda is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. She has worked with clients individually as well as in a group setting and has experience working with those struggling with anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, grief/loss, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, and self-harm behaviors. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys reading, creating art, practicing yoga, playing games, and spending time with loved ones.

I often reference the saying “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” I believe in the importance of filling up your cup, which highlights the importance of taking care of ourselves in order to care for others.
