Why therapy?

There are many reasons why one seeks therapy. Sometimes there are life circumstances such as divorce, death, life transition (going to college or having a child), or developmental changes that lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, or isolation. Other times there are those of us that have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression or other issues. There are also those who are being medicated and need additional support. When this occurs people seek support and counseling in order to gain strategies to living a happier and more fulfilling life. Therapy can address issues of Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Relationship Issues, to just name a few. Therapy is right for anyone who wants change and is ready to feel better!

How can therapy help me?

There are many benefits to therapy. Our clients have said that therapy has: provided strategies and support, made them feel understood without judgment, improved communication with loved ones, provided insight, reduced stress, helped them to feel “not alone”, increase their ability to manage their life better in this ever changing and busy world, develop new patterns of behaviors and improve self- esteem.

What are sessions like?

Once our staff has ensured that they have paired you with the right therapist, the therapist will discuss your concerns and goals during your first session. Our therapist’s intention is for you to feel comfortable, understood and address your needs in order for you to feel your best. In the beginning you will have weekly sessions. After progress and goals are met your sessions may move to biweekly and then termination. Termination is the objective in therapy. We do not want you to be in therapy for any longer than necessary. We want you to get the tools and strategies you need.

What are your fees? Do you accept insurance? How does insurance work?

First, please check with your insurance carrier to determine what your mental health coverage is. We recommend calling the phone number on the back of your card to determine in & out of network benefits. Please ask the following questions:

  1. Do I have a deductible? You may have an individual or family deductible. You may also have a different deductible for in network vs. out of network benefits.
  2. What is my copay?
  3. Do I have co-insurance?

Once you have determined this information, our welcoming staff will confirm your benefits & explain what your responsibility is for each office visit.

There are therapists who are in and out of network providers. We also are happy to accept assignment and to offer a low cost therapy option for those who need it.
