MSW, LCSW, PMH-C

Jenna Papadatos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C). She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University, and has over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. Jenna’s decision to seek specialized training for perinatal mental health felt like a calling, as she knows first-hand how motherhood can be both beautifully fulfilling and extremely challenging. Pregnancy and the postpartum period can be such a unique experience for each parent, and being able to access emotional and social support is vital during this delicate time. In addition to the perinatal population, Jenna also works with tweens, teens, young adults, adults and parents/families. She treats depression, anxiety and mood disorders, as well as trauma and loss. She has experience working with families in crisis, and children/adolescents who are experiencing social-emotional challenges, and might be school-avoidant, self-harming, suicidal or abusing substances.  Jenna is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist. She is passionate about working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, and has a great deal of professional experience in this area. Over the years, she has also worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, fostered/adopted youth and adults living with HIV/AIDS.  Her previous clinical treatment modalities have included individual, group, family and multi-family therapy.  She has provided counseling services in outpatient, in-home, partial hospital/intensive outpatient and school settings.

Jenna completed a Trauma Certificate course through the NASW-NJ in 2022. She utilizes evidence-based strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Therapy. She is constantly learning and evolving as a clinician.  “My personal mission is to partner with my clients to cultivate their authentic selves, feel more emotionally regulated, have healthier relationships and regain a sense of control over their lives. I enjoy infusing humor, creative expression techniques (i.e. art; music; writing; role-playing, games) and relaxation techniques (mindfulness; deep-breathing; meditation; guided imagery) into my sessions, so that clients can tap into wholehearted versions of themselves. I believe in highlighting my clients’ strengths, recognizing individual needs and tailoring my treatment accordingly, in order to assist clients in meeting their personal goals.”

In her free time, Jenna loves spending time with her husband and 2 children, and enjoys dancing, yoga, going to concerts, cooking/baking, reading, listening to podcasts, going to the beach, exploring nature, eating ice cream, watching TV/movies, celebrations and traveling.
