Jenna Papadatos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She earned her Master of Social work from Rutgers University. She specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, adults and families. She treats depression, anxiety and mood disorders, as well as trauma and loss.  She has experience working with families in crisis, and children/adolescents who are experiencing social-emotional challenges, and might be school-avoidant, defiant, self-harming, suicidal and abusing substances.  Jenna is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.  She is passionate about working with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as offering psycho-education for their family members.  Over the years, she has also worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, fostered/adopted youth, adults living with HIV/AIDS, as well as new and expectant parents seeking support.  Her previous clinical treatment modalities have included individual, group, family and multi-family therapy.  She has provided counseling services in outpatient, in-home, partial hospital/intensive outpatient and school settings.

Jenna utilizes evidence-based strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family-focused Therapy (FFT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Behavior Modification and the Nurtured Heart Approach.  “I enjoy using humor, creative expression techniques like art, music, writing, role-playing, meditation/guided imagery and playing therapeutic games.  Since much of my clinical experience has been with youth and families, my practice has been guided by the principles of Family Systems Theory.  I believe in focusing on my clients’ strengths, and tailoring my treatment for each client, to help individuals meet their personal goals.”

In her free time, Jenna loves spending time with her family and friends, listening to live music, cooking/baking, practicing yoga, going to the beach, biking, nature walks, eating ice cream, reading, watching TV/movies, celebrating holidays and traveling.
