Julie Clappsy
MSW, LCSW

Julie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 5 years of experience in the mental health field. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from West Chester University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Monmouth University. She has experience working as a therapist in a school setting, partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program. Julie has experience working with clients experiencing school avoidance, social anxiety and complex interpersonal relationships. Julie has experience with supporting clients and providing parents with intervention techniques in order to support clients working towards their goals.

Julie works with children as young as 10 years old, adolescents, adults and families. She utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP). Likewise, she has experience running therapeutic groups and developing Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) to help clients gain insight to their mental health needs. These techniques have been proven to be effective in treating issues related to mental health disorders and relationship issues.

Julie has worked with clients struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and a variety of other mental health challenges.

In her free time, Julie enjoys spending time with family and playing with her dog. She loves yoga, baking new recipes and reading on the beach.

Julie is a passionate therapist. She utilizes a strengths based perspective to help clients reach their full potential. She prioritizes meeting the client where they are at and assisting them with obtaining their individualized goals. She is always learning about
new and effective ways to help the clients she serves.
